Heirloom Silk, Silk Organza and Silk Batiste
I prewash my silk garments on a delicate cycle in cool water, tumble dry for 10 minutes and hang to dry. For prewashing the fabric do the worst that can happen to it before you sew it up - that way there will be no accidents like shrinking or pulling later on when laundering. I launder my finished garments on delicate and put them into the dryer for 10 minutes, when damp dry I hang them on a hanger to dry straight. I touch up with a dry medium iron if required. Remember not to use spray starch or water on your silks as you sew them.

This silk is very fine and tightly woven with a smooth soft gloss finish. I
became interested in this silk when I was trying to match fabric to a 100 year
old family christening gown. What a find! It rolls and whips beautifully.

Silk Batiste - Imported, Natural (Item # SBN2)
| Natural White |
This is a little heavier, with a fine woven texture that just looks rich with quality. Lovley for blouses and christening gowns alike. It sews up great and doesnt' unravel like the really light silks. Everybody loves working with it and we've had lots of brides choose it because it's ever so slightly crisp. It's a natural white, so it's not stark, but not ecru. Machine wash gentle, hang when still slightly damp to dry and it will only need a touch up with the iron. 45" Wide, 100% silk. $12.50 yd
